Yate and Sodbury Striders are proud to be fielding five England Athletics qualifying runners (Martin Hamm, Marian Grace, Caroline Nicholas, Caroline Lavis and Mary Derrick) to represent England at the Great Birmingham Run 10k Road Race on 5th May 2024.
Senior Coach, Bob Lavis said, “We are all very excited at the opportunity now open to these Masters athletes who qualified in 2023/24 under England Athletic rules to represent England. Competing with other top-class athletes in this race, they are well placed to achieve podium positions at this England representative event. Coaching continues and we will be supporting them in Birmingham on the day”.
A significant achievement for Yate and Sodbury Striders in the first year since their founding in May 2023. Building on their moto “Running with Purpose”, being able to field five athletes of this calibre is a significant achievement, a reflection of each runner’s dedication and the quality of coaching and support provided by Yate and Sodbury Striders.
