This event provided an opportunity for Yate and Sodbury Striders EA qualified members to compete for England against some of the very best runners representing England and Wales.
A sunny hot day with more than 14,000 runners meeting up at the start line created an exciting, if not confused, atmosphere. This was the first EA representative race for some of our runners, having qualified in the previous 12 months.
What a fantastic run from all our runners! The results included three podium places (two seconds for Caroline Nicholas WV40 36:31 and Marian Grace WV65 45:36 and a third for Caroline Lavis WV75 52:11 with personal bests for Martin Hamm MV65 44:13 and Mary Derrick WV65 49:12), the results were amazing and exceeded expectations.
Well done, amazing results. Dedication to your training in the lead up to the event and your determination to do well for England and YASS on the day, really came through!
