Participating in our first Gloucestershire Cross Country League with four events spanning the months of November, December, January and February and taking place in very muddy conditions at Cirencester Park, Bath University, Cotsworld Farm Park and Cheltenham’s Pittville Park.
Yate & Sodbury Striders achieved some excellent team and individual performances over these four league events.
Amazing individual achievements with Mary Derrick and Martin Hamm claiming 1st Gold medal league positions in the 65+ VM & VW age categories.
Yate and Sodbury Striders fielded two ladies teams that were judged as A: An open (all ladies) series with 55 teams and B: A masters’ only series with 32 teams. In the open series we came 11th and 14th. In the masters’ series we came 9th and 12th.
The team events saw Yate and Sodbury Strider’s runners Mary Derrick, Marian Grace, Jane Glasspool, Liane Pope, Sue Hutchinson and Carmel Rosenthal competing in this event.
Our first team event, we certainly made a good impression, well done everyone!
